A devastating house explosion in Gillespie County has claimed the lives of two residents, according to the Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred on May 27 in The Overlook at Bear Creek subdivision, located approximately nine miles south of Fredericksburg near U.S. Highway 87.
Investigation Underway
The explosion, which took place just before 8:30 a.m., is believed to have been triggered by a propane gas leak. The blast occurred when one of the residents attempted to use the stove, as reported by the sheriff’s office. Emergency responders arrived on the scene shortly thereafter, with the first deputy reaching the site just before 8:40 a.m.
Both victims were transported to hospitals in the San Antonio area for further medical treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the injuries proved fatal.
