Representatives from Project Jupiter are set to present updates on the data center currently under construction at the Santa Teresa Industrial Park during the July 28 Doña Ana County Board of County Commissioners meeting.

Project Background

The data center campus project was approved in September 2025 by the Doña Ana County Board of County Commissioners through the issuance of $165 billion in industrial revenue bonds over 30 years and a Local Economic Development Act agreement.

Oracle announced in April that Bloom Energy fuel cells would provide up to 2.45 gigawatts to power the data center complex, marking a pivot from previously planned gas turbines and diesel generators.

According to County Economic Development Department Director Denisse Carter, there have been 2,200 construction jobs at the site, with over 20% of the jobs going to New Mexico residents.

Dona Ana Community College is offering training for the 750 critical operations positions that is enforced through the Local Economic Development Act agreement.

Upcoming Hearing

There is also a scheduled October 19 hearing in Sunland Park regarding the air quality permit application related to Project Jupiter.
