The Powerball jackpot is on the rise again after no one won the top prize in Wednesday night’s drawing, sending the jackpot up to $856 million or a cash value of $341.6 million.
Wednesday’s Drawing Results
The winning numbers were announced for the drawing, which had been estimated at $786 million: 14-20-59-60-61, and the Powerball is 25. The Power Play is 2x. Although there was no jackpot winner, one lucky person in Ohio won the $1 million Match 5 prize.
The historic run has seen the jackpot soar to $856 million, making it the 8th-largest in Powerball history. The most recent jackpot win was on May 2, 2026, when two tickets in Florida and Texas split a $20 million jackpot.
The odds of hitting the jackpot are a minuscule 1 in 292.2 million. If a ticket matches all five white balls plus the red Powerball drawn on Saturday, the winner would be faced with two options: claiming the estimated $856 million grand prize, paid out through an annuity with annual payments over 30 years, or receiving a one-time, lump-sum payment of an estimated $341.6 million.
However, regardless of which option a winner chooses, they wouldn’t take home the full prize amount due to federal taxes and, in most jurisdictions, state taxes as well.
Powerball is played in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, with three drawings per week — Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays — and tickets costing $2 each. Adding the Power Play option, which can multiply winnings by two, three, four, five, or 10 times, to a ticket costs an extra $1.
