Port Canaveral, one of the largest cruise ports in the country, is getting even bigger. The port is doubling the size of one of its cruise terminals and adding a new 13-story parking garage that can accommodate 3,000 cars. This expansion will allow 17,500 drivers to park at the port.
Expansion Details
The expansion is a response to the growing demand for cruise vacations. According to Capt. John Murray, CEO of Port Canaveral, the port has an 80% drive-in market, with people coming from all over the Southeast and the rest of the U.S. The new parking garage will help to meet this demand. Construction on the expansion is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
