Popovich Steps Down as Legion Baseball Director

Ron Popovich, a graduate of Albert Gallatin and former Colonials head coach, has stepped down as Pennsylvania American Legion Baseball’s Region 6 director after 16 years.

Popovich Reflects on His Time as Director

Popovich stated that he felt it was time to move on and is interested in coaching at the high school level again. He recalled his time as director, highlighting the most memorable season as the first year he became regional director, when his stepson Brad Yohman’s Uniontown Legion team won the regional tournament after a tough first-game loss.

Popovich oversaw the annual regional tournament, which included teams from the Fayette American Legion league. He expressed his love for baseball and his desire to remain involved in the sport.
