A Pomfret man recently won $1 million on a CT Lottery scratch ticket, the top prize in the $1,000,000 GOLD game.
The winner, who was not identified by CT Lottery, said he sometimes rubs his scratch tickets on his dog for good luck. He didn’t quite believe it when he revealed the prize.
“I was scratching, then I said, ‘Wait a minute — no way,'” he said. “I got out of the car and paced around for a bit.”
He plans to use the winnings to build a garage and invest in his 1-year-old daughter’s education. He bought the ticket at the Brooklyn Xtra Mart on Providence Road.
Sales of tickets for the $1,000,000 GOLD game ended on July 13 and winning tickets must be redeemed by January 9, 2027.
