Polk County sheriff’s deputies are reaching out to the Davenport community for assistance in locating a driver who allegedly took a wallet that was left behind at the Wawa convenience store on Oct. 23.
What happened
According to the investigation, a man lost his wallet around 4 p.m. near the outdoor seating area at the Wawa located at 8103 Lake Wilson Road. The victim did not realize the wallet was missing until he arrived home later that evening.
Surveillance video captured a silver sedan—identified by investigators as possibly a Lexus ES—pulling into the store shortly after the loss was reported. The driver exited the vehicle, walked over to the outdoor table, picked up the wallet, and left the premises without returning it.
