PLYMOUTH, Mass. — Attorneys representing the single juror who voted to find Lindsay Clancy guilty in the mistrial of her children’s murder case announced they intend to file a formal bar complaint against defense lawyer Kevin Reddington.
Lawyers allege improper conduct
Tyler Cox told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that his firm will pursue the complaint, saying Reddington’s actions “unprecedented” and that “you don’t attack jurors this way.” Cox claims Reddington filed a motion that singled out the holdout juror and even labeled him “the obstructionist.”
Reddington, a veteran Massachusetts defense attorney, told the court he was frustrated by accusations that he was “persecuting” the juror who was the only member of the twelve‑person panel to vote for a guilty verdict.
Prosecutors seek gag order
Plymouth County prosecutors have also asked the court for a gag order, accusing Reddington of exposing the juror’s identity, wasting other jurors’ time, and undermining Clancy’s chance at acquittal. Assistant District Attorneys Jennifer Sprague and Shanan Buckingham wrote that the motion “violates caselaw and ethical rules” designed to prevent comments that could influence the trial’s outcome or prejudice the jury venire.
The prosecutors’ filing praised the foreperson as “courageous” and described the remaining jurors as “attentive, beautiful, wonderful.”
Next steps in the case
Clancy is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 2 for a motion hearing. A retrial date has not yet been set, as both the prosecution and defense have asked Judge William Sullivan for additional time.
The planned bar complaint underscores the tension surrounding the high‑profile case and raises questions about how attorneys should interact with jurors in contentious trials.
