Pleasant Grove Independent School District’s Board of Trustees held a regular meeting to discuss several standard items for the new school year, including a safety and security audit.
Safety and Security Audit
District Police Chief Jake Klar shared a report on the district’s security and safety audit, which is required by the Texas School Safety Center every three years. The audit includes a self-assessment of the district’s records and facilities, as well as interviews with campus leaders, district leaders, and staff.
The audit was conducted from November 2025 to July 2026, and the required information was submitted to the Texas School Safety Center through an online reporting system. The district’s findings indicated an ongoing effort to maintain safe, secure, and healthy environments that promote effective teaching and learning.
In other news, the board adopted the upcoming school year’s budget and a compensation plan that added a stipend for the high school’s prom liaison and the intermediate school’s student council liaison.
