U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner is facing new allegations of sexual impropriety, just 24 hours after being accused of rape. The latest allegations come from Platner’s ex-girlfriend, Lyndsey Fifield, who claims that Platner removed condoms during sex without her consent.
Allegations Against Platner
Fifield, 41, previously accused Platner of physical misconduct during their relationship, saying that he sometimes grabbed her hard enough to leave marks on her body. Platner’s campaign has denied the allegations, calling them ‘categorically false and politically motivated.’ Platner is running to oust Republican Maine Sen. Susan Collins.
Another woman, Jenny Racicot, 41, accused Platner of rape on Monday. Platner denied those allegations as well, saying his campaign was taking time to assess possible next steps. Several of Platner’s supporters have dropped their endorsements of him and called for him to drop out of the race.
