What do you actually do at M Resort when you’re not eating or gambling? It’s a fair question, and one I asked myself on a Tuesday afternoon when the temperature outside was sitting at 104 degrees and the idea of a real round of golf sounded like a punishment. Someone at the bar mentioned the golf simulator setup near the sportsbook, and I figured I’d at least walk over and look.
I’m glad I did. M Resort’s golf simulator bays are the kind of thing that doesn’t make the front page of anyone’s itinerary, but once you’re in one, you understand why regulars treat it like a standing reservation. The setup uses full swing simulation technology — the screen is big enough that your brain actually buys it, and the swing data it spits back is genuinely useful if you care about that sort of thing. If you don’t care about your launch angle or spin rate, you can also just ignore all of it and play a virtual round at Pebble Beach while drinking something cold.
The bays are climate-controlled, which in Enterprise during summer is not a small detail. I went with a friend who hasn’t swung a club in about three years, and he was up and running within ten minutes. The staff at the desk walked us through the system without being condescending about it — they’ve clearly done this for people at every skill level. There’s no dress code beyond basic decency, no need to rent real clubs if you bring your own, and the per-hour rates are reasonable given you’re splitting them across however many people are in your group. Two people sharing a bay for an hour lands somewhere around $40–$60 depending on the time of day, which beats a real round at almost anywhere in the valley.
What I didn’t expect was how much time we spent not golfing. The adjacent sports bar area pulls you in — there are enough screens to always have something going on, the beer selection is solid without being overthought, and the food is the kind of bar food that knows what it is and executes it well. We played maybe 45 minutes of golf, spent another hour at a table near the bar, and somehow neither of us felt like we’d wasted an afternoon.
M Resort itself sits out on St. Rose Parkway in Enterprise, far enough from the Strip that it doesn’t have that frantic energy, but polished enough that nothing feels cut-rate. The parking is free, the property is well-maintained, and on a weekday you’re not competing with weekend crowds for space or attention. It has the feel of a local’s casino rather than a tourist destination, which is probably why the golf simulator bays don’t get more press — the people who know about them aren’t exactly advertising.
If you’re visiting with someone who doesn’t gamble, or you’ve already done the buffet and the spa and you want something a little more active without stepping into the heat, this is worth knowing about. Book ahead if you’re coming on a weekend — I checked back a week later on a Saturday and the bays were full by early afternoon. Weekday afternoons are your best window for walk-ins.
