Pilsen Unidos Por Nuestro Orgullo (PUÑO) is organizing the Pilsen Apoya Biz Crawl, a small business crawl to stimulate the local economy and support businesses in the Pilsen neighborhood.
Supporting Local Businesses
The crawl invites neighbors to visit dozens of local businesses, many of which are owned by people in the neighborhood, offering a range of products and services, including crafts, food, beauty services, and more.
Participants who visit five or more businesses and collect stamps on a loteria-themed punch card will receive a limited-edition T-shirt. PUÑO will also share ‘Know Your Rights’ information and other resources during the event.
The business crawl is an opportunity for local businesses to come together and show a united front, creating a strong and artistic community that makes Pilsen a destination.
Challenges Faced by Local Businesses
Some local businesses, such as Carnitas Uruapan, have struggled due to heightened immigration enforcement operations. However, the business crawl aims to support these businesses and promote the local economy.
PUÑO will be sharing information and videos about participating businesses, highlighting all that the neighborhood has to offer ahead of the crawl.
