The Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo is set to begin, featuring the famous Pikes Peak Rangerettes drill team. The team will help open the show and perform during halftime.
Rodeo Details
The rodeo, which runs through July 18, will include competitions and performances such as bull riding and barrel racing. The event is also a fundraiser for the Pikes Peak or Bust Foundation, which supports local military families with quality-of-life initiatives.
According to Skilly Deloach, one of the Rangerettes, the team is a high-speed equestrian drill team that consists of 16 or 20 horses working together to create maneuvers. The team’s performance is likened to synchronized swimming, except on horseback.
