Pickle City Fort Worth, a 16-court pickleball club, has opened in the city. The 35,000-square-foot sports complex has been open since January and features a full gym, wellness spaces, a sports bar, and a pro shop.
Local Business
The facility is the brainchild of Steve McKeever, who is also developing North City, a 148-acre urban village in far north Fort Worth. McKeever’s daughter, Hannah, is the director of sales, and other family members are also involved in the business.
Pickle City is part of a growing trend in the sport, which now has about 20 million players in the U.S. and is forecasted to grow at an 11.3% compound annual rate through 2028.
Community Impact
The facility has already attracted a loyal following, with about 350 members playing on the club’s 16 courts. Don Clesson, a member since day one, praised the facility’s vibe and competition.
In other local business news, the landmark mixed-use property at 1109-1121 W. Magnolia Ave. has been sold to Jeanette Randolph for an undisclosed price. The property, which houses Cherry Coffee and has apartments on the second floor, is a notable transaction in the heart of Fort Worth’s Near Southside.
