Philadelphia Police Continue Intensive Search of West Chew Ave Home Linked to Seven Missing Women

Philadelphia police announced today that the investigation into the West Chew Avenue home continues to focus on uncovering the fate of seven women who disappeared over the past decade. Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore said investigators have examined roughly 30% of more than one million digital images and videos recovered from the residence, which belonged to the late Raymond “R.C.” Horsch, an 82‑year‑old producer of adult‑oriented fetish films who died in 2025.

Ongoing forensic effort

Vanore told a news conference that the digital evidence includes thousands of videos showing women in various poses, some appearing unconscious with injuries. “There are thousands and thousands of videos that need to be gone through. We need to corroborate what we see,” he said. The police have identified 58 individuals in the files, including several of the missing women.

Key developments

Police first learned of the property after a park ranger stopped a BMW on the 600 block of Market Street in Old City on June 19, 2026. Inside the vehicle were Raymond Horsch’s son, Eugene Horsch, 44, and an unidentified woman who later identified herself as Blair Tonzelli, a woman who vanished in 2023. The ranger also discovered two handguns, about $8,000 worth of illegal drugs, and forged federal credentials on Eugene Horsch.

Subsequent searches of the West Chew Avenue home uncovered additional illegal firearms, a marijuana grow operation, a fake FBI badge, and five urns containing cremated remains. A later warrant executed on June 25 by the Philadelphia Police Homicide Unit, ATF agents, and a bomb‑disposal team revealed computer parts and a makeshift laboratory with an unknown oily substance.

Missing women linked to the home

Investigators now believe five of the seven women are deceased, though no bodies have been recovered. The women include:

  • Blair Tonzelli – missing since 2023; her identification was found on the woman arrested with Eugene Horsch.
  • Amy McHale – R.C. Horsch’s ex‑wife, missing since June 2016.
  • Nicole Fusaro – disappeared in 2018 at age 27; investigators say video evidence suggests Horsch may have strangled her.
  • Maribel Fresses – last seen in 2018; video from August 2026 leads police to believe she is no longer alive.
  • Gabrielle Amarando – vanished in 2012; similar video evidence points to her death.

Videos dated to 2017 show Fresses and Amarando lying unconscious with visible injuries. In another set, a woman appears nude with Horsch, using narcotics before being handcuffed, tied to a bed, and having a zip tie placed around her neck. Police have not confirmed whether this woman is Fusaro.

Commitment to families

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel emphasized the department’s dedication to the families affected. “We have a duty to those families who are concerned about whether their loved ones lost their lives in that house or maybe somewhere else,” he said.

Investigators are still testing chemicals found in the basement to determine if they were used to destroy evidence or dissolve remains. The results have not yet been released.

How the public can help

Authorities continue to ask anyone with information to call the Philadelphia police tip line at 215‑686‑TIPS (8477) or speak directly with a homicide investigator at 215‑686‑3334.
