The Pittsburgh Penguins drafted twins Markus and Liam Ruck in the NHL draft. Markus was selected with the 39th pick in the second round, following his brother Liam, who was drafted 22nd overall a day earlier.

NHL Draft Highlights

The twins, from Osoyoos, British Columbia, spent the past two-plus seasons as one of the Western Hockey League’s most productive tandems in Medicine Hat. Markus led the WHL with 108 points last season, while Liam finished second with 104 points.

The NHL said this marked the fifth time twin brothers were selected by the same team in the draft. Other notable highlights from the draft include the selection of Brooks Rogowski by Vancouver and the forfeiture of the Vegas Golden Knights’ 63rd pick due to a league sanction.
