Pedestrian taken to ambulance after vehicle collision in southwest Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City police responded to a traffic collision Friday morning in the city’s southwest neighborhood, near the intersection of Southwest 37th Street and County Line Road. According to officers on the scene, a driver struck a pedestrian who was walking in the area.

The victim was reported to have suffered only minor injuries. First responders quickly placed the individual onto a stretcher and loaded them into an ambulance for transport to a medical facility for further evaluation. It is not yet known whether the person was taken to a hospital or released at the scene.

Police investigators arrived shortly after the crash and began gathering statements from witnesses and reviewing any available video footage. A local news helicopter captured aerial footage showing the ambulance parked at the scene with its lights flashing, confirming that emergency services were on site and the victim was receiving care.

Authorities noted that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. No arrests have been made, and the cause of the collision is still under review. Officers are asking anyone who may have seen the incident or who has additional information to contact the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Community safety reminder

Local officials continue to emphasize the importance of pedestrian safety, especially in residential neighborhoods where foot traffic is common. Drivers are urged to stay alert, obey speed limits, and watch for pedestrians crossing streets, particularly in areas with limited lighting.

Residents who have concerns about traffic safety or who wish to report hazardous conditions are encouraged to reach out to the city’s Public Safety Department. The department regularly reviews traffic patterns and can implement measures such as additional signage, speed bumps, or improved crosswalk markings to help prevent future incidents.

Next steps

The investigation remains ongoing. Police will release further details once they have completed their review of the evidence and spoken with all parties involved. Updates will be provided through official channels and local news outlets.
