The Pathways Indigenous Arts Festival will take place this weekend at Buffalo Thunder Resort near Santa Fe, celebrating Indigenous art, food, film, and live music. The event, which began as a way to support Indigenous artists, has grown over the past six years. This year, more than 350 artists will participate, offering pottery, jewelry, painting, beadwork, and more at an arts market with indoor and outdoor booths.
Festival Details
The festival runs from Friday at 10 a.m. through Sunday. It also includes a stage with live entertainment, a food court, screenings of short films by Indigenous filmmakers, and booths from nonprofit organizations sharing their programs and services. Both parking and entry to the festival are free.
According to Karl Duncan, executive director of Poeh Cultural Center, “Native artists really love what they do, and their art is personal, but even being more personal, it’s tribal. It’s who they are, what their community is about. It’s their values. And that’s what Pathways is about.”
