Pasco County residents have until Monday, July 20, to register to vote or update their political party affiliation if they want to participate in the upcoming primary election. Because Florida operates as a closed primary state, voters are only permitted to vote for candidates who share their registered party affiliation during a primary.
Voter Registration Details
Those wishing to change their party affiliation or register to vote for the first time must do so by the July 20 deadline. Updates and new registrations can be completed online at PascoVotes.gov/ovr, or by submitting a paper voter registration application. For those using paper applications, the documents can be mailed to the elections office at P.O. Box 300, Dade City, FL 33526. To be valid for the primary, mailed applications must be postmarked no later than July 20.
The three office locations accepting registrations and updates are:
- Dade City: East Pasco Government Center, 14236 6th St., Suite 200
- New Port Richey: Liberty Building, 8606 Government Dr., Suite 1
- Land O’ Lakes: Central Pasco Professional Center, 4111 Land O’ Lakes Blvd., Suite 105
Election officials are encouraging residents to verify that their current registration details are accurate. Voters who plan to use mail-in ballots are also advised to ensure they have a current signature on file with the office, as signatures are used to verify mail-in ballots.
