Pasco County Roadwork Schedule for Aug. 23‑29 Impacts Major Corridors

Pasco County residents should prepare for a busy week of road construction as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) implements scheduled maintenance from Sunday, August 23 through Saturday, August 29. The projects affect major north‑south and east‑west corridors, including State Road 52, US 41, US 98, US 301, State Road 39, State Road 54 and the Suncoast Parkway (SR 589).

Key Westbound Restrictions on State Road 52

Westbound traffic near the Suncoast Parkway will face continuous left‑lane closures around the clock. The restriction remains in place until further notice. In addition, the eastbound left‑turn lane onto northbound SR 589 is partially closed at its western end, also operating 24 hours a day.

Night‑time Lane Closures on SR 52

From Sunday night, August 23, through Friday morning, August 28, FDOT will close lanes on SR 52 between Tradeway Boulevard/Pasco Road and the area west of Interstate 75 each night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. During the same window, one of the two lanes on the westbound entrance ramp to southbound I‑75 will be shut down.

Suncoast Parkway Ramp Adjustments

The southbound SR 589 exit ramp to SR 52 will have its right‑turn lane partially or fully closed each day from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday, August 24 through Saturday, August 29. Turns will still be possible, but drivers should expect reduced capacity.

Daytime Restrictions on Major Corridors

Several north‑south routes will see daytime lane closures:

  • US 41 (Land O’ Lakes Boulevard) at Lake Patience Road: lane closures Monday‑Friday, 8 a.m.‑6 p.m.
  • US 98 between County Road 54 and Townsend Road: periodic closures and flagging Monday‑Friday, 7 a.m.‑5 p.m.
  • US 301 at Wire Road: northbound right lane closed Tuesday‑Friday, 8 a.m.‑5 p.m.
  • SR 39 near the Hillsborough River bridge north of Jerry Road: flagging and periodic closures Wednesday‑Friday, 7 a.m.‑7 p.m.

State Road 54 and Local Streets

SR 54 drivers should expect both night‑time and daytime work. Night closures at Altamont Lane run from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday‑Thursday. Daytime lane closures at Henley Road occur Monday‑Friday, 8 a.m.‑6 p.m.

Wesley Chapel and Clinton Avenue Adjustments

In Wesley Chapel, northbound Bruce B. Downs Boulevard (CR 581) between SR 56 and south of CR 54 will be closed nightly from 8:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., Tuesday‑Thursday. On Clinton Avenue between Cindy Lane and US 301, crews will conduct nightly lane closures and flagging Wednesday‑Thursday, 7 p.m.‑5 a.m.

Recreation Trail Access

The Suncoast Trail Trailhead at Touchpoint Drive remains closed around the clock through the summer of 2027, limiting access for hikers and cyclists.

Tips for Drivers

Motorists are urged to allow extra travel time, follow posted signage, and consider alternate routes where possible. Local law enforcement and FDOT crews will be on site to manage traffic flow and ensure safety.

For the most up‑to‑date information, drivers can check the FDOT website or follow Pasco County’s official social‑media channels.
