Parker’s Corner Market Transforms into Parker’s Mercantile in Liberty Hill

Liberty Hill is set to see a transformation at the Parker’s Corner Market site as it becomes Parker’s Mercantile, under the management of Mike Farr, owner of Wish Kitchen + Bar. This initiative aims to breathe new life into the downtown area, providing a venue for live music, shopping, and a platform for entrepreneurs to test their ideas.

Community Revitalization Efforts

The city of Liberty Hill, which still owns the building, has leased the space to Farr, who has a history of successful business ventures in the Austin metro area, including the Nutty Brown Amphitheatre. The city plans to open the space on weekends later this summer, although full redevelopment is expected to take several years.

During a recent Liberty Hill Chamber of Commerce luncheon, Deputy City Manager Brandon Pritchett emphasized the importance of this project in maintaining the community’s vibrancy. “We’re really excited about actually reshaping that corner,” Pritchett stated. “We know it’s a staple to the community, and we want to keep it the name of Parker’s … it’s become what that building’s known for.”

Investment in Local Economy

The city purchased the property for $1.6 million earlier this year and has allocated $150,000 for renovations. Located near the intersection of Main Street and Hwy. 1869, the site is strategically positioned less than 200 feet from Wish Kitchen + Bar, making it a prime location for attracting visitors and supporting local businesses.

This move is part of a broader effort by the city to address community demands for a more active and engaging downtown area, ensuring that the space does not remain vacant. The short-term activation of the site will host smaller vendors while the city develops a longer-term plan for the area.
