Rene Perez appeared in a Palm Beach County courtroom for a status hearing in the murder case of Linda Campitelli. The defense said it is still waiting on about 63 documents that are part of discovery, which is the process in which both sides review evidence and other case materials.
Because of the delay, the defense asked for more time, and the judge agreed, pushing the case back and setting the next status check for September 4. Perez was arrested in March and charged with first-degree murder in Campitelli’s 2024 death. Investigators say the two knew each other through work and were allegedly involved in a relationship.
