However, after completing the work, the job seekers are not paid and are locked out of the company’s interface.

How the Scam Works

The scam starts with a job offer from “Deliver on Time,” which has a real website and is registered on Sunbiz. The job seekers are asked to receive packages at their homes, check the contents, take pictures, and then reseal and ship the packages to other locations. The company promises to pay the job seekers after a 30-day probationary period.

However, when the job seekers try to log in to the company’s interface to get paid, they find that they are locked out, and the phone number provided by the company is not reachable. The BBB has warned that these re-shipping scams typically involve the handling of stolen goods, and the job seekers may be unknowingly involved in criminal activity.

Local Connection

The address affiliated with the company is linked to a business in Palm Bay. The owner of the business, Ankur Shah, has stated that the company is not active and was meant for a business that was never started. Shah has cautioned everyone to be careful and not to fall for such scams.

The BBB has advised job seekers to be cautious when applying for work-from-home positions and to never pay to get paid. The organization has also provided a scam tracker on its website to help people identify and report scams.
