Gary Sánchez doubled home the go-ahead run for Milwaukee off Adrian Morejon in the top of the 11th. However, the Padres tied it when Merrill’s sac fly off Antonio Senzatela brought in automatic runner Jake Cronenworth.
The Padres had tied the game at 2 with two outs in the eighth when Fernando Tatis Jr. scored on Cronenworth’s infield single. Dustin May pitched well for the Brewers, allowing one run and four hits, striking out six and walking two.
