A former Rochester man, Brady Pysadee, was convicted in August 2024 of delivering fentanyl that resulted in the death of Mercedes Simonds, a Bradford woman, in 2021.
Conviction Upheld
Pysadee’s lawyers argued that the jury should not have been permitted to hear hearsay statements from the deceased victim about obtaining drugs from Pysadee. However, the Pennsylvania Superior Court noted that the evidence in the case was abundant, including Pysadee’s own statements made to the victim, toxicology results, video surveillance, and a medical expert’s testimony, all of which supported the conviction.
