Nine Ozarks natives are on the Missouri State football roster, looking to make an impact in the upcoming season. These players, who starred at southwest Missouri high schools, are part of the 104 players on first-year head coach Casey Woods’ roster.
Local Players to Watch
Some of the notable locals include Ramone Green, a fourth-year junior running back from Nixa High, who became a relevant figure in the Bears’ offense last season. Green had 278 rushing yards on 52 carries and 19 receptions for 446 yards.
Connor Lair, a fifth-year senior running back/tight end from West Plains, has been a favorite among fans. After powering through chemotherapy following a 2023 cancer diagnosis and subsequent remission, Lair has worked in fullback/H-back roles and is currently listed as a running back and tight end.
Kellen Lindstrom, a third-year sophomore defensive end from Glendale, is one of Woods’ first recruiting coups this past offseason. Lindstrom spent the past two seasons at Tennessee and figures to play a much bigger role in Conference USA.
Other locals on the roster include James Rexroat, a third-year sophomore tight end from Republic; Caden Wiest, a fourth-year junior defensive end from Reeds Spring; Stewart McDonald, a third-year sophomore punter from Logan-Rogersville; J.J. O’Neal, a fifth-year senior safety from Logan-Rogersville; Cooper Roy, a fourth-year junior linebacker from Glendale; and Cash Pomeroy, a first-year freshman fullback/tight end from Marionville.
