The city of Orlando is eliminating parking meters and introducing a digital payment system. The ParkMobile app will allow drivers to pay for parking on their phones, set exact durations, and receive alerts when time is running out.
Digital Parking System Rollout
The first phase of the parking modernization plan begins this week, with the removal of parking meters in the SODO area and the Orlando Health vicinity. The rollout will then expand to the South Eola neighborhood, east of Rosalind Avenue and south of Central Boulevard. Finally, the remaining downtown meters will be removed in areas between Colonial Drive and Anderson Street, as well as Garland Avenue and Rosalind Avenue.
During the phased rollout, some parking meters will remain in place while new signs are installed. Starting October 1, updated parking hours, new pricing, and enforcement measures will take effect.
