The Orlando Pride secured a 3-0 victory over the Kansas City Current on Friday night, with historic performances from Marta and Anna Moorhouse, as well as a goal from league scoring leader Barbra Banda.
Historic Performances
Pride goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse made her 100th start for the Pride, becoming only the fifth player to do so, and recorded 9 saves at the net, the most she’s recorded in a NWSL match ever. Marta scored an uncontested goal against Kansas City to put the Pride up 1-0 and become the first player to score 50 goals for the Pride across all matches.
The Pride added to their lead in the 57th minute off a corner kick, with Ally Lemos sending the ball into the box, where Hannah Anderson headed it into the net for the team’s second goal of the match. Barbra Banda capped the scoring with the game’s third and final goal after the Kansas City goalkeeper misplayed a clearance outside the penalty area.
