An Orlando man was arrested Tuesday morning following a foot pursuit that began at a Davenport convenience store, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. A Polk County sheriff’s deputy was inside the Wawa store when an employee reported that a woman at the automated teller machine appeared to be crying.
The woman told the deputy that her boyfriend, 41-year-old Jordan Christopher Beans, had battered her and stated that he had active warrants for his arrest. Beans began walking away as the deputy approached him and then fled on foot down Lake Wilson Road after being ordered to stop.
A background check confirmed that Beans had two active warrants: one from Polk County for violation of probation regarding charges of battery and resisting, and another from Orange County for fleeing to elude law enforcement. Beans was charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest without violence in addition to the two outstanding warrants.
