Oklahoma is expected to experience more rounds of storms overnight into Tuesday. KOCO 5 Meteorologist Mikayla Smith looks at the next round of storms this evening into Tuesday morning across Oklahoma.
Storm Details
The storms have moved out, but Oklahoma still has alert days ahead and a big warm-up in sight as the week heads towards the weekend. For this afternoon, temperatures will actually be a little bit cooler, with 84 degrees in Oklahoma City, but some upper 80s in southwestern Oklahoma.
There is a chance for storms tonight into tomorrow morning, with Oklahoma City being taken out of the risk area. The risk is now focused on southwestern Oklahoma, including Clinton, Hobart, and Lawton. The storms may bring hail, up to ping pong ball size and quarter size, and damaging winds, about 60 to 70 mile per hour.
The timeline for the storms shows that most of the day today will be nice and dry, with a few scattered showers possible down near the Red River later this evening. The storms will start to fire up around midnight tonight in southwestern Oklahoma, and then start up around 4 or 5:00 tomorrow morning.
As the storms move out, temperatures will be in the 60s and 70s, but will warm up more tomorrow afternoon, with a high of 87 in Oklahoma City, and more upper 80s or even 90s in parts of western Oklahoma.
