Oklahoma Human Services (OHS) announced a statewide recruitment effort for case managers in its Developmental Disabilities Services (DDS) division. The goal is to reduce the growing waitlist for services that support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Why the push matters
Case managers play a critical role in guiding families through Oklahoma’s waiver system, ensuring they receive the appropriate supports and therapies. By expanding the workforce, DDS aims to speed up access to essential services and improve outcomes for vulnerable Oklahomans.
Qualifications and benefits
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in a human‑services field or a permanent Oklahoma nursing license, and have at least one year of direct experience working with individuals who have intellectual or developmental disabilities. Acceptable backgrounds include social work, special education, psychology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, physical or occupational therapy, speech therapy, or nursing. A valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and successful completion of a background check are also required.
DDS highlights opportunities for career advancement, competitive benefits, and the chance to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
