Oklahoma City Weather Update: Warm Memorial Day with Rising Lake Levels

As Oklahoma City residents prepare for Memorial Day, the weather forecast promises a warm and sunny day, ideal for outdoor activities. Meteorologist Mikayla Smith reports that temperatures will reach around 85 degrees, with some areas in western Oklahoma potentially hitting 90 degrees. This pleasant weather provides a perfect setting for family gatherings, barbecues, and trips to local lakes.

Lake Levels on the Rise

For those planning to visit local lakes, the water levels are showing signs of improvement. Lake Hefner, located closer to the metro area, is down by about a foot, but lakes in eastern Oklahoma, such as Arcadia, are experiencing slight increases in water levels. This is encouraging news for families looking to enjoy water activities during the holiday weekend.

As the week progresses, Oklahoma City will see an increase in rain chances. Starting Tuesday, there is a 40% chance of showers and storms, which will rise to 70% on Wednesday and 60% on Thursday. Residents are advised to keep their umbrellas handy as the weather takes a wetter turn mid-week.

For sports enthusiasts, the Oklahoma City Thunder will be playing in San Antonio, but local fans can enjoy watch parties with warm evening temperatures in the 80s, cooling down to the 70s as the game concludes.
