Oklahoma City Enjoys Warm and Sunny Memorial Day Weather

Oklahoma City residents are in for a pleasant Memorial Day as the forecast predicts warm and mostly sunny weather. According to KOCO 5 Meteorologist Mikayla Smith, temperatures will rise quickly throughout the day, reaching a high of 86°F in the afternoon. The morning will start off cooler, with temperatures around 72°F at 9 a.m., but by lunchtime, it will already be 80°F.

Limited Rain Chances Today

While there will be some cloud cover moving in during the second half of the day, it is not expected to prevent the temperature from rising. The chances of rain are minimal, with only a 10% chance of isolated showers or thunderstorms developing later in the day. Most areas will remain dry, allowing families to enjoy outdoor activities without much concern for rain.

Looking Ahead to the Week

As the week progresses, rain chances are expected to increase. By Tuesday night, there is a 40% chance of showers and storms, which will continue to rise, especially by Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures on Tuesday are expected to be slightly cooler, with highs in the mid to lower 80s and some areas experiencing upper 70s.

The KOCO 5 First Alert Weather Team, led by Chief Meteorologist Damon Lane, has been recognized for providing the most accurate forecasts in Oklahoma City for 14 consecutive years. Their dedication ensures that residents receive reliable weather updates, helping them plan their activities accordingly.
