The Oklahoma City Thunder will open the 2026-27 season against a pair of Western Conference rivals. The Thunder will open the regular season on the road against the San Antonio Spurs before returning to Oklahoma City for their home opener against the Denver Nuggets.
First Thunder Games Announced
The season opener is slated for 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 20, and the Thunder’s first home game will be at 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 22. The Thunder-Spurs game will be televised on NBC, and Oklahoma City will host Denver on ESPN.
Oklahoma City has had several heated games against the Spurs and Nuggets the past few seasons, including during the playoffs. San Antonio won the Western Conference championship earlier this year at the Paycom Center. The victory came during a seven-game series.
The Thunder and Nuggets have played numerous contentious games during the regular season and playoffs the past few years. In 2025, Oklahoma City beat Denver in a Western Conference Semifinals series that went seven games.
Preseason Schedule
The Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday announced the five-game preseason schedule. The Thunder will play two games at the Paycom Center, two games on the road, and one game at the BOK Center in Tulsa.
