OG&E has signed President Donald Trump’s ratepayer protection pledge, committing to shield customers from higher energy costs tied to high-demand users like data centers.

In a statement, OG&E said the pledge reaffirms its commitment to protecting customers from higher costs related to serving energy-intensive consumers. The company highlighted its proposed large load tariff, which ensures that customers using the most electricity cover more of the associated costs.
The White House described the pledge as a broader initiative, calling on leading U.S. hyperscalers and artificial intelligence companies to not only build or buy all the energy needed for their operations but also to pay for the full cost of the energy and infrastructure required.
OG&E stated it supports the spirit of the pledge while continuing to operate within state law and the policies of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.
