A vegetation fire broke out in Oceanside late Friday afternoon and was fully extinguished and contained about an hour later. The blaze, dubbed the “Boulevard” fire, started around 4:30 p.m. and was declared 100 percent contained at about 5:50 p.m., the Oceanside Fire Department said.

The fire began as vegetation burning in the city. Fire crews moved quickly to attack the flames before they could spread to nearby homes or businesses.
