The Ocean Photographer of the Year 2026 finalists have been announced, showcasing a diverse range of artistic opportunities from the world’s oceans. The competition, which received thousands of entries, is divided into categories such as wildlife, fine art, and conservation.
Categories and Entries
The entries cover a wide range of subjects, including drone, coastal, and underwater perspectives. A new category, ‘Ocean Unseen: Hidden Worlds,’ has been introduced this year, focusing on the ocean’s smallest and least-seen inhabitants.
Will Harrison, founder and director of the annual contest, said, ‘These photographs don’t just capture what’s beneath the surface; they surface the stories our planet most needs us to hear.’ The winners will be announced next month.
