Former U.S. President and basketball fan Barack Obama expressed confidence in the future of the San Antonio Spurs during an interview on the “All The Smoke” podcast.
Obama’s Thoughts on the Spurs
Obama, who has been a fixture at NBA games, shared his thoughts on the team’s performance, particularly highlighting the talent of Spurs center Victor Wembanyama. He noted that Wembanyama will be as good as everyone expects, but needs to figure out his go-to move and work on his conditioning.
Obama also discussed the challenges of playing defense in the NBA, stating that it is much harder now due to the increased movement and pick-and-roll plays. He suggested that the Spurs would have been better served by having a natural point guard on the floor, but believes that Dylan Harper, who is only 20, could be that player in the future.
