The New York City Economic Development Corporation is a nonprofit that serves as the city’s official economic development agency. Anthony Shorris, a partner at global consulting firm McKinsey & Company and a longtime city government official, was named president and CEO of the corporation.
A group of landlords has filed a lawsuit against the New York City Rent Guidelines Board, alleging that Mayor Mamdani packed the board with loyalists who did not consider rising property costs in their decision to freeze rents for about 1 million regulated apartments for up to two years.
