Notre Dame quarterback Kingston Allen tops WNFL stats as unbeaten teams vie for first loss

Notre Dame’s Kingston Allen continues to dominate the WNFL listening area. After a season‑opening performance that electrified fans against Neenah, Allen now leads the region with 15 total touchdowns, all coming on the ground. He also tops the rushing‑touchdown chart with the same 15 scores, putting him well ahead of the next best, Neenah’s Ashton VanBeek, who has 13.

Rushing and passing leaders

Allen has amassed 1,047 rushing yards in just three games, a comfortable margin over Luxemburg‑Casco’s Eli Derenne (532 yards) and Seymour’s Greg Salzman (502 yards). In the passing game, Freedom’s Owen Henkel and Sevastopol’s Bo Tanck share the lead with eight passing touchdowns each. New Holstein’s Ely Kohlman leads receivers with six touchdowns, followed by Freedom’s Aidan Aerts with five.

Quarterback and receiving yardage

West De Pere’s Andrew Greisen tops the quarterback passing‑yardage list with 803 yards. Green Bay Preble’s Harrison Selk follows with 769 yards and Freedom’s Owen Henkel adds 626 yards. In the receiving department, Green Bay Preble’s Tyler Cleven (320 yards) and Sevastopol’s Cash Kuehn (315 yards) occupy the top two spots.

Unbeaten teams after three weeks

Only three Division 1 football programs remain unbeaten at 3‑0: Appleton West, Bay Port, and West De Pere. In Division 2, Ashwaubenon and Notre Dame share the perfect record, while Division 3’s Green Bay West also stands unbeaten. Division 4 sees Denmark, Freedom, and Little Chute at 3‑0, and New Holstein leads Division 5. Bonduel (Division 6) and Shiocton (Division 7) each hold a 3‑0 record, and Algoma tops the 8‑man football standings at 3‑0.

The next test comes Friday when Freedom hosts Denmark, a matchup that is expected to produce the first loss for at least one of the unbeaten squads.

Cross‑country highlights

On the cross‑country side, Eau Claire Memorial’s Will Pogonis posted the state’s best time so far, 15:12.7 at the Augustana Twilight Meet on September 4. Luxemburg‑Casco’s Ezra Treml recorded the 16th‑best time at 16:04.6 during the Chief Kahquados Invitational. Seymour’s Logan Boehnlein posted the 31st‑best time, 16:21.3, at the James Boyd Invitational.

Among the girls, Whitefish Bay’s Karstin McCabe leads the state with a 17:44.3 finish. Neenah’s Sam Zilm placed sixth at 18:22.2, Green Bay Preble’s Arya Shefchik was ninth at 18:38.9, and Appleton North’s Eva Busch earned 13th place at 18:40.7.

Volleyball rankings

Division 1 volleyball sees Oconomowoc at the top, with Kimberly and Neenah holding the third and seventh spots respectively. In Division 2, Mosinee leads, while Fox Valley Lutheran, Xavier, Luxemburg‑Casco, and Oconto Falls fill the fifth through ninth positions. Division 3’s Watertown Luther Prep is the leading team, with Brillion at fourth. Division 4’s McDonell Central sits at No. 1, and Shiocton ranks eighth. In Division 5, Florence claims the top spot, with NEW Lutheran at seventh.

Golf rankings

The Wisconsin Golf Coaches Association’s week‑2 poll places Bay Port second in Division 1, with Kaukauna ninth. In Division 2, Seymour holds the No. 1 ranking, while Denmark and Wrightstown sit at seventh and eighth respectively.

These updates underscore the strong performance of local athletes across football, cross‑country, volleyball, and golf, reflecting the depth of talent in northeast Wisconsin’s high‑school sports programs.
