Northeast Indiana Diaper Drive Supports Families with Young Children

In Fort Wayne, Indiana, Healthier Moms and Babies is spearheading a community effort to support families with young children by collecting diapers and wipes. This initiative, running through June 15, addresses the pressing issue of diaper insecurity, which affects nearly half of families in the region.

Community Support for Families

The nonprofit organization has set up multiple donation sites across northeast Indiana, encouraging community members to contribute to their annual diaper drive. Last year, the drive successfully gathered over 150,000 diapers and wipes, which were distributed to families in need throughout the area.

With the rising cost of childcare essentials, many parents find it challenging to meet the monthly average diaper expense of about $100 per child. Healthier Moms and Babies aims to alleviate this burden by ensuring that parents have access to necessary supplies, reinforcing the importance of community support in nurturing strong families.

Organizers emphasize that access to diapers is one of the most common unmet needs for parents with young children. By participating in the diaper drive, community members can play a vital role in supporting local families and promoting the well-being of children in the region.
