A North Texas man is set to attend the prestigious Tour de France after discovering a passion for cycling. Tim Connor, a 50-year-old resident of Aubrey, became an avid cyclist after deciding to donate a kidney to a neighbor during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A Journey to Cycling
Connor started riding his bike more consistently to lose weight and prepare for the kidney donation. This act of selflessness turned into a love for cycling, and he now participates in group rides when he’s not working.
Later this month, Connor will travel to France for 10 days to watch the Tour de France and ride in parts of the country. He’s celebrating more than just his trip, as he and his wife, Julie, are marking 27 years of marriage.
Connor is excited to join the final stages of the Tour de France and explore France with his wife, who enjoys hiking. They’ve planned a trip that combines their interests, with Connor cycling and his wife hiking through the mountains.
