As North Texas prepares for triple-digit temperatures, homeowners may face higher air conditioning repair and replacement costs. HVAC companies cite tariffs on imported electrical components, changes in refrigerant rules, and increased material, fuel, and labor costs as factors driving prices up.
Higher Costs for Homeowners
David Hart, owner of Frontline HVAC Services, reports that the average cost of a new residential HVAC system is now about 10% to 12% higher than it was a year ago. Some repairs cost as much as 30% more than they did 12-18 months ago. Hart advises homeowners to stay on top of routine maintenance to avoid major repairs.
To help with the financial strain, several HVAC companies in Parker and Tarrant counties are hosting a free back-to-school community event on August 7th, providing free school supplies, children’s haircuts, and other resources for local families.
