North Dakota State’s football team is making a historic move to the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) level, joining the Mountain West Conference. The team has an impressive resume, with 12 Missouri Valley Football Conference titles and 10 Division 1 FCS titles.
Transition to FBS
The Bison will start their FBS journey against Jacksonville State on August 29 and begin conference play on September 12 against Air Force. Despite losing their starting quarterback, the team is confident in their new players, including senior Nathan Hayes and running back DJ Scott.
The team’s defense also looks strong, with All-MVFC linebacker Donovan Woolen returning and transfers EJ Davis and DJ Voltz joining the cornerback spots. With their experienced players and new additions, the Bison are expected to make a smooth transition to the FBS level.
