Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College celebrated the opening of a new nursing instruction wing at its Mansfield Campus with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday. The ceremony marked the completion of a new facility designed to expand healthcare education opportunities in DeSoto Parish and the surrounding region.

College officials say the wing represents a significant investment in workforce development, providing additional resources to train the next generation of nurses and healthcare professionals. The expansion is expected to help meet the growing demand for skilled healthcare workers while strengthening educational opportunities for students pursuing careers in nursing.
NLTCC broke ground on the nursing wing in February 2025. It includes additional classroom, lab, and study space to support hands-on instruction and collaborative learning for nursing students. NLTCC staff extended special thanks to state Rep. Larry Bagley for his leadership and support throughout the project. Bagley was instrumental in securing the funding needed for the expansion and helping move the project forward.
The new wing will welcome students in time for the beginning of the fall semester. Fall enrollment is currently open, and classes begin Aug. 10. Those interested in attending NLTCC can learn more about available programs and apply to the college at www.nltcc.edu.
