Northern Kentucky University has hired a new athletic director, Mike Odom. Odom took over the position in July and will oversee the entire Norse athletic department, including over 600 student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
Background and Experience
Odom comes to Highland Heights after working at Creighton University, Wake Forest University, and North Carolina State University. He was born and raised in Raleigh, NC, and grew up attending Wolfpack football and basketball games.
Odom credits his aunt for turning him into a major sports fan and pushing him into the field of college athletics. Although his aunt passed away in March, Odom says she would be proud of him if she were around to see him lead NKU athletics.
Odom and his wife, Kasey, have three children who are already familiar with the Greater Cincinnati area. Odom has already declared his love for Graeter’s Ice Cream and is excited about the future of the Norse athletic department.
