A new discipline is coming to the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles: an American Ninja Warrior-style course. This course will be part of the modern pentathlon, which already includes fencing, swimming, running, and laser pistol shooting. The obstacle course will replace the equestrian show jumping portion.

Plano-native Karsten Williams, who has appeared on a dozen seasons of American Ninja Warrior, said this is proof the sport is gaining momentum. Williams has been working with summer campers at a Ninja gym in Murphy and is the creator of the Ninja Project Dallas, a mobile entertainment experience for kids.
Williams believes the Olympic debut will accelerate the adoption of the sport and open doors for more athletes. He has been training and competing in the sport since he found it on TV and applied to be on the show.
