Nick Houck, a former Bardstown police officer, will have his trial moved out of Bardstown after a judge granted his team’s motion. Houck is facing a perjury charge related to the disappearance of Crystal Rogers in 2015.
Trial Details
Houck’s brother, Brooks Houck, was convicted of Rogers’ murder last year and is serving a life sentence. Nick Houck was referred to as a co-conspirator during Brooks’ trial and was arrested a year later.
The judge has given both sides two weeks to agree on a new location for the trial or provide a list of 10 potential counties. If they cannot come to an agreement, the judge will decide on a location himself.
Rogers’ mother, Sherry Ballard, was present in court, wearing pink, Crystal’s favorite color. Noticeably absent was Nick’s mother, Rosemary, who has also been referred to as a co-conspirator and is on the prosecutor’s list of witnesses.
