A new Yemeni coffee shop, R Qahwah Cafe, is set to open its doors in Overland Park near 95th and Metcalf. The cafe is located in the former Mud Pie Bakery space and will offer a variety of coffee drinks made from beans originating from Yemen.
Coffee and Community
The menu at R Qahwah will feature signature drinks like cardamom lattes and a peanut butter latte with a peanut butter topping. In addition to Yemeni coffee, the cafe will also offer Brazilian drip coffee and brigadeiros, a popular chocolate treat in Brazil. The cafe’s matcha is from Japan.
Rufaida Elmansi, the owner of R Qahwah, wants the cafe to be a space where people can stay and find a sense of community over coffee. She has been working on the cafe with the help of her husband, Jad Hijaz.
