New Scholarship Aims to Combat Bigotry

A new undergraduate scholarship to combat bigotry and hate has been announced by Keith Myers, a longtime healthcare executive and philanthropist. The Keith Myers Scholarship to Combat Bigotry and Hate is an annual award for students who actively work to reduce prejudice and foster inclusion.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at an accredited college or university in the United States, hold U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency, and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

The scholarship is open to students from any major, field of study, or state, and employees of Keith Myers’ affiliated organizations and their immediate family members are not eligible to apply.

Purpose and Anticipated Impact

The scholarship aims to amplify student voices that champion respect and understanding over division, and to support students who propose replicable, compassionate solutions to combat bigotry.

The selection committee seeks applicants who not only understand the roots of bigotry but also propose concrete actions to combat hate, whether through volunteer work, campus organizing, creative expression, or academic research.
